More info on Masselys:
‘Masselys rose from the ashes of Oslo band Salvatore (their albums were produced by John McEntire & they toured with Tortoise) and if you miss Salvatore’s electronic rock, Masselys is quite similar, just more danceable and catchy.
Luminescently deviant dazzle-disco-decontamination beams in to your diaphanous village! The light-bulb lords of Masselys are Kjell-Olav Jørgensen, Bjarne Larsen and John Wormdahl, three members of Salvatore, whose post-krautrock roasted rock art put Norway on the dream-map of a universal future. Masselys
also includes the radiating halo-gleam of Jonas Hestvik Dahl from the decadent pop holocaust 120 Days, and the band is fronted with a wild, wild blaze by Viviana Vega, former chanteuse and rapper with Oslo’s yoghurt-eating Metronomicon Audio collective. Masselys is Norway’s most inner-lit group, and it’s in that auroric land where they are known for three things: conspiring illuminatedly with aberrant animator Christopher Nielsen, the phosphorescent 12-inch ‘Freak in the Mirror’ and the
incandescent album ‘Jimmy Polaris’.’
